Executioner Kurdish Halabja, “Chemical Ali” was hanged

According to the Iraqi government, Ali Hassan al-Majid, known as “Chemical Ali”, was executed by hanging, on Monday. He had been sentenced to death by the Iraqi justice for the massacre of 5 000 Kurds in the village of Halabja in 1988.
